What a gem of a find. Brilliant hearty breakfast which was really tasty and you could tell was freshly cooked. The place is welcoming and the owner Nicola was very friendly and attentative.
Omg THEE most delicious Mothers Day Afternoon Tea experience I have ever had in my life. Couldn’t believe how much food we got for the price we paid! and unlimited tea aswell! Amazing! We were so full we literally could not move afterwards! My mum was made up. A big thank you to all the staff who were so lovely as usual. I knew you wouldn’t let me down absolutely outstanding food and service. I stumbled upon Gingerbread by accident after a shocking experience elsewhere... this is by far the best Tea Room in Widnes and seriously deserves much more recognition. Would not go anywhere else. Everytime we have visited the food has been spot on. Delicious and freshly cooked. Eggs Benedict is also to die for. Thank you for making our day so special.
A really lovely place to eat. The food is delicious; good portions, plated nicely, swift service (but not rushed!). Meals are cooked to your specifications - bread type, toasted or not, etc - and the staff are friendly and happy to list your options. I thoroughly enjoy stopping by for a special lunch.
What a lovely Breakfast and Lunch Cafe. I had a huge hearty breakfast with a couple of extras and everything was cooked to perfection with care and excellent presentation. Everything reasonably priced too. Nice warm welcome and atmosphere with brilliant service, where nothing requested was too much trouble and served with an amazing smile. I will definitely come here again and have no hesitation on recommending this place to anyone wanting a great breakfast or lunch. Parking is not the best as its on a major high street, but if you drive around the block a couple of times, you will find a parking spot nearby. Thank you for an amazing visit, see you again soon.
Fantastic afternoon tea today for 7. Sandwiches were all freshly made, cakes and scones all fantastic. Can't recommend it enough, will definitely come back.
Love this place! Visited the newly located Gingerbread today ... wow its lovely. Bigger, brighter, beautiful and still with the same warm welcome, lovely staff and the best hot drinks and food. Will definitely be visiting more often xx
Lovely lunch here today - pigged out on some pancakes with bacon and maple syrup the book exchange is a really cute idea - can't wait for the book fair too! The servers and the owner were all lovely, great service all-round xx

I was chatting to the owner how she started it going What a really good lady lots of warmth and made me feel so very welcome .. Can't wait to take a mate of mine in here for our next meeting.. well done the Gingerbread Cafe... 5 Stars..
